The House on a Sloping Site responds to the challenge of a steep mountain terrain through a simple, sober volumetry integrated into the landscape. The layout makes use of the natural level difference: the semi-buried basement accommodates the night and technical areas, while the elevated ground floor hosts the day zone, opening towards the courtyard and mountain panorama.
The composition is defined by a mineral base in dark plaster and a sharp two-pitched metal roof integrating an extensive green roof, photovoltaic panels, and a circular skylight. Inside, an open, bright living space with kitchen and dining unfolds under a spectacular double height with exposed laminated timber structure, while the more intimate bedrooms open directly to the garden. Robust materials — concrete, stone, wood, glass — emphasize the contemporary character, and large windows, together with the circular skylight, turn natural light into a design element. Sustainable strategies (green roof, solar panels, heat pump, heat-recovery ventilation) optimize thermal comfort and energy efficiency.
The house embodies balance between retreat and openness, intimacy and dialogue with nature.
