  • PEAKTURE HOTEL – BALVANYOS RESORT

The Peakture Balvanyos Hotel is an extension of the Grand Hotel Balvanyos and Grand Santerra Spa, connected underground to the existing complex. The 7-level building includes two underground floors for the spa — with a semi-Olympic pool, interactive children’s area, treatment rooms, and relaxation spaces — and five above ground. The ground floor, designed as an open-plan, hosts the reception, lobby, bar, and breakfast area, opening to a generous terrace with panoramic mountain views. The upper floors contain 45 accommodation units in six typologies, along with offices and two conference rooms, all oriented to maximize light and scenery. South-facing rooms […]
  • LODGE IN A GLADE

Eco, self-sustainable, green house built in a remote, natural mountain site. The main horizontal topography-volume is partially masked by a sloping green roof and mineral, gabion wall cladding and two traditional barn-like structures are growing from this to break and articulate the huge mass of the construction. The materials and shapes were chosen to blend in the stunning scenery. The building produces and stores most of its energy demands but it isn’t completely off the grid, en electrical connection is made for very cold and cloudy days as a backup system. + natural building materials experience, demanding and confiding clients, straightforward project managemenet and construction […]
  • DIY

The DIY House, located in a quiet semi-rural area by the Simeria stream, explores vernacular-contemporary architecture and acts as a manifesto of sustainability and craftsmanship. Built during the pandemic, it followed a do-it-yourself approach with the active involvement of the owner, family, and friends, becoming a community process of learning and adaptation. This method encouraged simple, local, low-impact materials, making the building a story of personal engagement. Technically, it applies passive house principles: well-insulated envelope, optimal solar orientation, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, photovoltaic panels, and natural shading. The interior is strictly dimensioned for essential functions, extending naturally to the […]
  • G-S HOUSE

The project beneficiaries purchased a plot of approximately 1,000 sqm, located in an old residential area near the Reformed fortified church and its cemetery. It was decided to preserve the existing building—a modest three-room dwelling originally built in 2001 as a garage and later converted into a residential house by extending it toward the street. The proposed interventions further extend the building approximately 4.5m to the north, including the construction of a cellar in the basement beneath the new volume. Functionally, the extension allows for a more efficient layout of the stairs to the upper floor, a generous dining area/hallway, […]
